In a rare moment of unity, the United Nations Security Council voted 14-0 with one abstention to adopt a binding resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire and unimpeded humanitarian access. Diplomats described the deal as the most significant Council action in more than a decade. The resolution establishes a monitoring mechanism and sets a 30-day review, with sanctions on the table for non-compliance.
